#AFLCatsTigers

Friday, 08 September 2017, 01:20:37 PM. NOBODY likes the tag “one-man team”, but if you’re going to rely on one man Dustin Martin would be a good one to have.

And so would Patrick Dangerfield.

They are expected to blitz the field on Brownlow night so it’s no surprise the Tigers and Cats rely hugely on their marquee guns.

But who depends on their superstar the most?

Martin leads Richmond in a crazy 10 different statistical categories, but a closer look at the numbers reveals Dangerfield might be even more important to Geelong.

Despite ranking second in the competition for average SuperCoach points, Martin was the highest-scoring player in seven of his 22 matches this season — and Richmond’s topscorer in nine.

Dangerfield, meanwhile, was Geelong’s top-ranked player in 16 of his 21 games. In 12 of those he was the highest scoring player on the field.

The other standouts this season were Tom Mitchell (Hawthorn’s topscorer 11 times) and Rory Sloane (Crows’ topscorer nine times).

Both Martin and Dangerfield will have a huge say in tonight’s result and stopping either could clear the path to victory for their opposition. Good luck with that.
