F1 British Grand Prix

LEWIS Hamilton has taken home a fifth British Grand Prix win after pulling off a flawless race from the front of the pack.

The 32-year-old led the entire race virtually unchallenged as teammate Valtteri Bottas sat in second. Sebastian Vettel — who was sent back to seventh place in an epic puncture incident in the final lap — now sits one point behind the Brit in the championship race.

Australia’s Daniel Ricciardo endured a massive setback before the race. A grid penalty saw the Aussie start from the back of the grid, but a stunning drive from the Red Bull gun saw him finish fifth behind teammate Max Verstappen.

Hamilton soaks it in, Bottas and Raikkonen are thrilled

To be fair to Lewis Hamilton, you only get one home race a year.

But when you’re crowd surfing with thousands of elated fans and delay the obligatory post-race press conference, you’re going to seriously put the wind up people.

Hamilton had fellow stars Valtteri Bottas and Kimi Raikkonen looking less than impressed as they waited for the five-time Silverstone victor to take his place at the centre of the panel.
