DOOMBEN

Track: Good (4). Weather: Mostly sunny, 25C

RACE 1: RATING 70 (1200m)

RB70, 11.42am

In the run: All Amuk holds the rail and Ignite The Light comes across to challenge. Impregnable gets a lovely run behind. Secret Puzzle is the other one that could potentially add to the pressure up front.

Take note: Peking Road showed talent last prep with the placing behind talented duo Rich Affair and Ringo’s A Rockstar. May have come back better going on the easy first up win at Caloundra.

Did you know: Ignite The Light was a late scratching last week after an incident before going onto the track. Tony Gollan has gone for a tongue tie in a bid to coax the best out of him. Impregnable beat him home last time, but feel Ignite is the one with more to offer.

Early money: Not much between Ignite The Light and Impregnable ($3.60). Beaudacious ($7-$6) has found some support.

NATHAN’S TIP: IGNITE THE LIGHT $3.40

NATHAN’S DANGER: Peking Road $11

RACE 8: QSCAN CLINICS (1350m)

3YO, 4.02pm

In the run: Legadema and Splitz the likely front runners. Rock ‘N’ Summer, Snitz and So Invincible can be handy.

Take note: I Am Impinge really attacked the line after having no luck at second start in a race. Overpowered hyped stablemate Whypeeo for third there and can only be better for the experience. Will relish the extra trip today and just needs an even tempo to be monstering the line for new rider Jeff Lloyd.

Did you know: Cellargirl’s lone two defeats came in races won by Houtzen. She’s been super impressive in each of her other three starts. Didn’t like her lack of speed early last time, but up to 1350m she should be a lot closer.

Early money: Mishani Bullitt ($5) and Snitz ($5.50) the other two in commission and then it’s double figures the rest.

NATHAN’S TIP: I AM IMPINGE $4

NATHAN’S DANGER: Cellargirl $4.60

CAULFIELD

Track: Good (4). Weather: Windy with showers, 17C

RACE 7: MEMSIE STAKES (1400m)

WFA G1, 4.10pm

In the run: Charmed Harmony and Vega Magic take up the running

Take note: Most rating experts had Vega Magic’s first up win off the charts after he carried the big weight and defied boom Japanese runner Brave Smash in the process. If he holds that rating, he’s going to be very hard to beat here and lone attempt at 1400m produced an easy win. Just getting into very skinny odds now.

Did you know: Le Romain is a three times Group 1 winner who knocked over Chautauqua last prep. He had to do plenty of work in the run when beaten first up. Better suited at 1400m (never finished worse than 2nd in four attempts) and trainer Kris Lees is building big reputation in feature races.

Early money: Vega Magic started the week at $3. Black Heart Bart ($7.50-$6) is as popular as ever, but will be inspected by vets on arrival today owing to a bruised heel.

NATHAN’S TIP: LE ROMAIN $6.50

NATHAN’S DANGER: Vega Magic $2.35

RANDWICK

Track: Good (3). Weather: Sunny, 22C

RACE 8: TRAMWAY STAKES (1400m)

SW+P G2, 4.30pm

In the run: Ecuador the leader with Invincible Gem not far off him. Tom Melbourne and Mackintosh are likely to roll forward in attempts to find trailing positions.

Take note: Tom Melbourne was obviously the best of good things beaten last time, but what the run did prove is that his trials were no fluke and he’s airborne since joining the Chris Waller (pictured) stable. Much tougher opposition here, but think he’s going well enough to handle it.

Did you know: Happy Clapper has turned in excellent trials behind Winx and Redzel in readiness for this, but hasn’t won first up for a good while. Invincible Gem keeps stepping up the ladder and overpowered her multiple G1 winning stablemate Le Romain here last time.

Early money: Ecuador was terrific in the Winx race first up and being the best weighted runner under the SW conditions, has been best backed here ($4-$3.60).

NATHAN’S TIP: TOM MELBOURNE $6.50

NATHAN’S DANGER: Invincible Gem $3.80
