I, Tonya - the biopic based on figure skater Tonya Harding and the scandal involving rival Nancy Kerrigan - looks phenomenal, in part because star Margot Robbie fits in perfectly as Harding.
Robbie has met the real Harding, and according to what she told People, she got some great advice on how to ice skate for the film:
"She was like, 'Just do sit ups.' So many sit-ups," the 27-year-old actress says.
Robbie also revealed more about their meeting:
"She was more worried about me," Robbie explains. "I thought I was going to meet her to placate her but really she was more worried about me, how I was doing with the ice skating, how I was doing with the fame at a young age."
The actress continued, "She was very sweet and very understanding that we were making a film. We weren't making a traditional biopic and this isn't a documentary - it's a film. And we need to have freedom to let these characters grow in their own way."
